NXP's IW62X family will deliver increased capacity, efficiency and performance for smart consumer iot hubs, wireless speakers, video-enabled smart devices, augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR) devices, and iot applications.
The device is suitable for advanced game consoles that require high performance Wi-Fi, wireless controller latency near zero, and a low latency multiplayer gaming experience over a wireless network (via a single indoor console).
These chips also provide real-time interaction for cloud-based gaming devices, clients and services by providing the high bandwidth and low latency connectivity required for full 4k / 60 fps gaming.
Compared to previous generations of Wi-Fi, they have increased speed, increased network capacity by four times and increased bandwidth by two times.
Increased capacity with reduced latency supports a large number of users and devices connected to a network or gateway.
These capabilities support a variety of robust use cases, including:
•AR/VR headsets for a complete, fully wireless immersive experience in HD.
• A multi-channel home theater audio experience enabled by wireless speakers, a video-enabled intelligent assistant (with full bandwidth) to support seamless 4k video interaction and content streaming.
• Smart iot hubs, devices and accessories, IP-based outdoor and remote security cameras.
Consumer, commercial and industrial iot solutions for home and building control (smart lighting, building security and climate control).
The BT/BLE radio supports the Bluetooth/BLE standard (BLE LR / 2Mbps, BLE AoA/AoD, BLE Mesh), independent Bluetooth connectivity, and an operating mode with multiple external devices.
These capabilities enable advanced smart hub and smart home services to use Bluetooth-based location and grid connectivity and provide support for numerous applications, including:
• Dual/independent wireless headset support.
• Strong audio streaming support (via stereo A2DP, sync channel).
• Individual low-power peripherals/accessory controls, including speakers, voice assistants, audio hubs/bars, physical remotes, and low-power device wake-up.
The series integrates 2.4 and 5 GHz dual-band power amplifier (PA), low noise amplifier (LNA) antenna switches.
It also includes a power management unit that reduces system-level BOM and device board area. It also simplifies the design of on-board chip and integrated module.
